Example design
Redline Garage
Independent garage. An example booking board for an independent garage that still runs the diary from the phone.
Problem
The workshop is full, and the phone rings while someone is under a car. The website lists every service the garage has ever offered and does not show how to book the common jobs.
What was wrong
A long menu, no MOT or service distinction above the fold, and a contact form that asks for a message instead of a registration and a preferred day. Opening hours disagree with the Google listing in this imagined scenario.
Strategy
Lead with MOT, service and diagnostics. Ask for the registration, the job and a day, and make the phone number the fallback when the ramp is the real constraint. Keep specialist work on its own page so it does not crowd the booking.
Design
A workshop-like interface: short labels, a visible diary request, and prices only where the garage is willing to publish a starting figure. The example avoids stock photos of spotless cars.
Development
A booking request that lands in the inbox the front desk already uses, with the option to connect a diary later. The site itself stays quick, because most visitors are on a phone in a car park.
SEO
Local pages only for the garage's real catchment, consistent name, address and phone, and service pages that match the jobs on the booking form. Google Business Profile hours kept in step with the site.
Result
The example replaces a generic brochure with a booking request the desk can answer.
